The Summer School runs for the first week of July to the end of August approximately 8 weeks. During this time the Montessori materials are put away and the fun begins. Each week has a theme and is filled with activities and art/crafts related to that theme.

Some examples are

Theme Activities
Sports Hula Hoops, Egg & Spoon race Rugby ,Cricket, Sack Races Walk the plank and Obstacles Course

All children receive a medal and cup for participating
Nature Planting seeds, nature walk to look for squirrels, fruit and vegetable printing and lollypop flowers
Farm Animal masks¸ Farm Songs and Stories and Shearing the sheep

We also get a visit from some friendly farm animals
Cookery Rice crispy buns, Queen cakes, Jam tarts, Shortbread, Rocky road and Flapjacks

The children bring home their tasty treats every day
Crafts Jewellery making, T-shirt painting, Pottery, Clay and Collage
Dinosaur Looking for Dinosaur eggs, Masks, Dino prints,
Dance Hip Hop, Ballet, Ballroom and Latin Dance ( Cha Cha, Salsa and Merengue)

All children receive a dance certificate at the end of the week
Messy Bubbles, Glup, Sand , Water and Slime

 

During the summer, we have plenty of outdoor play in our garden and trips across to the the park. We also have regular teddy bears picnics and barbeques.

We believe that when possible it is great for the children to be outdoors and enjoy the beautiful world around them.

The Summer School has always been very popular and great fun.
